Default 'Avatar' 3D Blu-rays May Be Panasonic Exclusive Until 2012

The bundle deal runs until February or 2012, exclusivity is the big question.

I dont know any better...but I would not be surprised if the 3D version of Avatar ''vanishes'' in the time frame between Feb 2012 and fall 2012 and is released to retail in time for the holidays 2012 (just to take advantage of holiday sales then).

...And I wouldn't be surprised if by 2012 the industry's complete mishandling of the 3D TV/Blu-Ray market kills any potential momentum the technology may have had.

Seriously. It's depressing watching how this is playing out.

Keeping it exclusive until 2012 will absolutely discourage the market and encourage more bootlegging.

This is why i still just look at 3D as a fad. Its almost like they are trying to keep it out of the hands of the general public. Its bad enough that we have to buy a new 3D TV to see 3D movies, but now we have to worry about buying a certin TV for each movie?? I'll pass, i'll just wait for the hologram TV's to come out.

Wonderful news. I hope they do this and other titles as well.
It will solidify the coffin that should be 3D.

LOL. One movie is going to make or break the success of 3DTV? Hardly.

I got the free copy of Avatar that came with my new Panasonic TV. The 3D looks beautiful!

One movie? Samsung has their exclusives, Sony has theirs and now Panasonic does. Are you supposed to buy 3 tvs to get all the movies you want? All this does is piss people off.
