Default 'Stardust' - High-Def Digest Review

Drew Taylor has revisited 'Stardust.' He's grown to love this film over the years and says it's well worth a peek. This Blu-ray features exceptional video and audio and tons of extras. Recommended.

Just curious, is the Blu-ray the same transfer as the HD-DVD?

I was a fan of the film. Probably the only adaption of Gaiman that I liked.* I pretty much loathed Coraline. I just would have loved to see the Josh Z's review again. Oh man, the memories...

But, I do appreciate the second opinion. I think it'll make this thread less of a circus this time.

*Having a hard time watching Neverwhere because of the "video." Granted, the show was made first, then adapted into novel, then adapted into comic.

One of my all time favorite movies. Great review....although I kind of disagree with your assessment of the tone. It's pretty even in my mind. Silly at times (without being stupid like Spiderman 3) but still serious enough

I still with it had the Lion and Unicorn stuff from the book though!

I've never seen the HD-DVD, but I've read on other forums that the BluRay was quite a bit better looking

The tone was one of the best things about this movie, I was thinking of The Princess Bride through nearly the whole thing. Just because murder and betrayal are involved doesn't mean it's no-longer a light-hearted fantasy adventure. I'm a big fan of dark comedy though so maybe that has something to do with it.

I grabbed the import way back when. Curious to hear how this compares.

Sounds like it was well worth the wait. I love this movie but had completely forgotten it came out.

The HD DVD was pretty dang good. While I like the movie, I just don't see a reason to swap at just now. Must pay for Inception instead

The HD DVD is very good indeed so I doubt that the Blu-ray is all that much better, but I admit that haven't viewed the BD.

By the way, the reviewer states that the blood of the nobles was green. Is it really green on the Blu-ray? Because on the HD DVD the blood of the royal folk is blue (you know, because they are blue bloods).
