Default 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Combo Pack)' - High-Def Digest Review

Our review of 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' is up. Aaron was pleasantly surprised by this one. Way, way better than Culkin and that 'Pagemaster' stunt he pulled 16 years ago! This Blu-ray features demo video and audio and some nice extras. Highly recommended!

Cage has financial problems?? News to me..I wonder why??

This will be a blind buy for me. I was not going to pick this one up but with a review and high marks like this...I will be giving it shot. Wonder if Disney will issue one of those lovely $10 off coupons for this flick??

Very surprised at the review for the movie itself. I saw it in the theater and wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I thought it was quite good. Some people are just taking this movie way too seriously. Yes, it is not perfect, but it is an excellent popcorn movie you can just sit down and enjoy without having to think too much. Yeah, there some plot holes in the story, but at least they took an old story and gave it some originality here. Not to mention it th efirst movie inlike 15 years to use Morgan Le Fay as their main villian.

I'll pick this up with Fantasia then since it's $10 off. Didn't need much of a reason but this review helps.

Going to have to disagree here-- I had trouble sitting through this entire flick in the theater. The plot was lame, the humor was cringe-inducing, and the characters (particularly main-villain Alfred Molina) was 2-dimensional and entirely uninteresting. I definitely would recommend renting this first and not a blind buy.

Watched it on Disney Blu Ray, and while the A/V are sparkling and fine--the story is rather flat. Overall, a very odd film. It kinda had that "Men in Black 2" vibe to it. I say this because it felt like this was a lame sequel. Despite this not being a sequel, it almost felt like we got cheated out of a better first film, from what we see in the flashbacks. I think this movie will bore younger viewers, which it is intended for. Not much more I can say other than it was truly an uninspired production.

Maybe not "better," but it's definitely 60% more "original."
