A bit strange to lump titles like Akira (1988) and Pride and Prejudice (1995) into a "classics" section with The African Queen (1951), Battleship Potempkin (1925) and It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

Doc-

i consider them as much, though. no such thing as a perfect list. no matter what, someone will disagree, and no matter how long you spend crafting it, you'll always end up leaving something out.

also, age doesn't necessarily matter when deeming something a classic. some films reach that status quite early in their life cycle. some would call rocky horror picture show a classic. i'd call it garbage, but some would say its at the very least one of the best known cult classic films.

Akira is THE classic anime, the game changer, and the first anime most people ever saw here stateside. anime has changed so much since its release, that it is, indeed, a classic, not quite a relic, and still miles ahead of nearly anything released since.

Pride and Prejudice is my pick for a single romantic film/series, as believe it or not, women buy Blu-ray too, and this particular title isn't readily stocked, and hasn't dipped an iota in the secondhand market. that makes it fit my qualifications for the list, a release that flew completely under the radar.

Out of 1500+ Blu-Rays, Pride and Prejudice is definitely somewhere in my top 50. Fabulous series and BD set.

the Jesus movie was filmed in my city and yeah...its BAD. i wouldnt even qualify it as a "so bad its good" or "fun bad"...its just a terrible movie. the worst part is the fact they filmed without sound so all the audio was done after the fact which results in terrible lip synching. lol

though it was pretty cool seeing all these parts of the city i know and go through regularly. there's been a couple "bigger" movies filmed here but i could never recognize anything so it was fun in that respect. but yeah, its definately not a good movie.

Henry might be my favorite horror film. I remember walking out of a matinee with two pals and we were all unnerved walking to our car.

Couldn't stand American in Paris or Gigi.

Eden Log should be taken of the list. That movie sucks bad. It's soooooo slow, it may look pretty but that's it.

Ugh, recommending the old The Crazies? Ridiculous - the new one really ain't bad for what it is; the older one, though possessing a bit more depth of message, just wasn't a very good watch.

Though maybe if this site actually gave the new one a review of some sort, people could decide for themselves!
