Default 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' - High-Def Digest Review

Our review of 'The Girl Who Played with Fire' has been posted. E says this film demands viewers' close attention, and again, the main draw here is Noomi Rapace's exceptional performance as Lisbeth Salander. This Blu-ray features fairly good video and audio, but not a single extra. This is a purchase for fans only, others should be happy with a rental.

Love these movies and can't wait for the third. I can't see anybody else playing Lisbeth but Noomi.

I have this on order for a great price. Can't wait to see it, since I loved the first one. Great review!

Thankfully, the redbox down the street has the blu-ray version.

I liked this movie better than "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", because the plot seemed more focused than the first film. While I liked the first film, the plot was so unfocused that by the end of the movie, as the mysteries were unraveling, I kept thinking to myself, "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that plot point!"

It was very refreshing to see the same cast back together in this film, focusing on solving a singly mystery. The fact that they toned down the amount of characters is also nice. In "Dragon Tattoo", I kept wondering, "wait, now which old dude is this again? I'm confused!"

The only down side to "The Girl Who Played With Fire", is that I don't think the climax was as good as Draon Tattoo. It was still good enough to make me want to see the next movie though

We loved the first movie, when we saw it in January in Europe. We were also able to see part 2 and 3 shortly thereafter. A great trilogy with part 1 being the best of the three. I am surprised, that the US Blu-Rays don't look a pristine, as the European versions did. Must be the type of copy they got to use, as the European versions didn't have much grain and were sharp as a knife.
Too bad that Stieg Larsson died after only these three books, because the whole story was laid out for 9 books in total.
Would have been great to see, what other adventures the girl and Mikhael would have to deal with.
Anyways, all three Blu-Rays are a must have.

Rented this not long ago and its a good follow up. Not quite as engaging as the first film but very solid. The third one will probably make or break this set for me regarding whether I buy them or just be happy with rentals/seeing them once.

100% agree. No one else will ever do the character justice -- Noomi is Lisbeth. I shudder to think what the remake will look like. Scariest part is Rooney Mara, who I find utterly annoying as a actress, in the role. Everything I've seen her in thus far, she stands out like a sore thumb. Even in 'Social Network,' her acting was simply awkward and bad. She's a background player, not someone that could ever command the screen like Noomi does.

Ugh!

I'm keeping my hopes high though because Fincher is directing. But the entire story and movie is dependent on playing Lisbeth perfectly. We'll just have to wait and see.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

Remake? For what? Who allowed that? Fincher is hopelessly over-rated and cant save anything. He'll make it worse. What a focking shame. No need whatsoever to remake this unless they are catering to the tards that cant read so the subtitles scare them away.

ARGH!
