Default Where is Mulholland Drive Region A Blu-ray?

With Europe enjoying their release in september, still no news about region A release. I would have paid $50 to import my favourite movie of all time but alas it is locked.

Any studio execs here that can throw me a carrot to nibble on? Why the delay and no news?

Europe got the release through Studio Canal, where in the US it would be released by Universal.
I don't think this is one of the Studio Canal titles that Lionsgate has a chance to release unless Universal somehow sold them the rights which I don't think they have.
I would consider putting the money towards a region free player, as there will continue to be hundreds of films released overseas that won't be available in the US for a long time afterward if ever.
imo having a region free player is essential to full enjoyment of the format, and I don't think that will ever change.

Universal has little interest in releasing this on Blu-ray, let alone releasing new catalog titles. Importing will likely be the only way to watch this in HD (disc). Though it's Region B Locked.

Or just buy a HD DVD player and import it. Region free (though it apparently has an audio pitch issue).

well after Universal makes it through all the HD DVD ports then they'll start releasing other stuff, and I would have to believe "Mulholland Dr." will certainly get released.

where is it?

you see, the Studio Canal Collection only releases the worst looking and sounding SCC discs here in America, and then can use the poor sales (high MSRP for poor product) against us, saying we don't buy the titles. no way would it be a sound business plan to give us more movies, including ones that aren't terrible discs.

interesting theory project-blu. do you have your tin-foil hat on !?

anything's possible. one need only look at the great treatment that jacob's ladder BD got in europe whereas the region A recent release pales in comparison.

In Germany there is a new David Lynch collection coming out, which also includes Mullholland Drive. It is by another studio (not Studio Canal) and MAYBE that edition is Region Free and import friendly:

i think conchord has a habit of locking titles, iirc.

i got the 2 digibook box set from France. no lost highway or inland empire, but elephant man. i'd make that trade any day, even if LH has a great soundtrack.

What is frustrating is that lower grossing movies than MD are being release on bluray...it doesn't make sense.
