Default 'Mars Attacks!' - High-Def Digest Review

E has reviewed 'Mars Attacks.' He says Tim Burton's spoof has its moments, but it also forgets the inspiration behind some of its inspiration. This Blu-ray has mixed video and audio, but it never truly shines. This set moves from DVD to Blu-ray in a barebones edition. Fans may want this, but otherwise, it's a rental at best.

So this doesn't have the hillarious 'Martian' dialog track where the entire movie is translated into "ack..ack...ack"

i love this movie, i never bought it in the hopes they'd make an actual special edition one day. then they announced the blu-ray and i got my hopes up so its sad to see its still barebones...or even more bare than the dvd. the movie is already 14yrs old so i thought it might get a "look at this cult classic" sorta special edition. lol

but i'll get it anyway because its not likely to get any special treatment anytime soon. i still remember seeing this in theaters, it was part of a double bill. They played Space Jam first and then this movie, which was an advanced sneak peak so that was fun. but since most people had just come for Space Jam, the family filled audience didnt seem to like or at least get the movie. lol

R.I.P. Jack Black. :P

When i saw Mars Attacks at the cinema in dts someone in the projection booth had turned something up because it's the only movie i have ever seen at a cinema where the bass was overpowering, i kid you not when i say you could feel the bass waves in the air and i mean FEEL!, i have never experienced that at a cinema before or since, bloody fantastic even if the bass dominated everything.

Plus it has Joe Don Baker. Star of Mitchell from the classic MST3000 series.

One of the few Burton films I can not only tolerate, but actually enjoy. I only spent $9 on the BD which, despite the very lackluster presentation, was still worth upgrading my DVD for.

This is awesome, especially considering that the DVD was one of the originals released on the format back in 1996. That original transfer was soft and muddled. Looking forward to getting this!

This is still, to date, the most jubilantly silly movie I've ever seen. My jaw was open by the time the ridiculous last scene cut to black. I still love it.

Awful. I think this was the film that got me off the gravy train. This is where I started to learn that Burton can make bad films.
