Default Odd/rare Blu-rays

I figured we could use a generic thread about these kinds of titles.

Anyone who has shopped ebay or HWV's closing sales know they had a few Blu-ray releases that really didn't get put in stores. Blockbuster even had one too.

The list of oddities I have found so far:

Alone in the Dark 2 (Best Buy exclusive, still not even rumored for wider release)
Mutants (HWV)
All Hell Broke Loose (HWV, getting a wide BD release next month)
The Merry Gentleman (Blockbuster)
Baseline Killer (unknown origin)
Robocop (recalled version)
Species (original Sony release)
Night of the Living Dead (forgotten films edition. 2 different editions already available in the UK)
Commando (recalled version)
Deadlands 2 (limited pressings distributed by the director)
Debacle (Nike)
Led Zeppelin: The Song Remains the Same (recalled version, full supplements)
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade
Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise
Freedom

any other domestic titles that got completely underground releases?

Looks like a movie based on the local serial killer here in South Phx. I remember it being all over the local news in '05-'07

well, it's got a horrible IMDb rating, and it's directed by Ulli Lommel, who's a poor man's Uwe Boll, only way, way, WAY less talented. his Black Dahlia film is one of the worst films i've ever seen.

I have Deadlands 2 on Blu-ray.

Also:
Robocop
Terminator
Sony versions that were recalled when they hit stores back when the format launched. Pretty much only reviewers got it.

I have The Merry Gentleman.

I still need to watch it.

What does the cover art look like for the Sony version of The Terminator, Gizmo? I didn't know Sony had a version they recalled.

the only public domain bd is worth noting--
the original Night of the Living Dead available direct from Forgotten Films through amazon.
Based on the favorable reviews I just had to order a copy, and I I just got mine in the mail.
Haven't had a chance to watch it yet though.
it's bound to be a rare bd, and could end up being worth something if an official version doesn't ever surface stateside.
also: the Paramount release of "Reds" does indeed seem to be OOP, but still available at a reasonable price.
this is a great film from the early 80's that anyone interested in Russian history should own.
It's also the type of intelligent drama that is way too scarce on the format.
especially older drams films.
add great performances by Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton, and "Reds" is the perfect example of an insanely overlooked rare blu-ray.

Sony's version of Species was the same way as Terminator, Brad. i still have my sony terminator disc/packaging, but i sold my sony species, ended up rebuying and got the mgm one. oh well

Robocop didn't ever hit stores, same as the original Commando. those were recalled/leaks.
