Great movie as it put a new spin on the Robin Hood story, which was necessary. The same thing over just gets old after a while. However, I'll get this for Xmas unless it is on sale for a great price.

Ridley Scott+Russell Crowe=Day one

On a slightly unrelated note, I've heard rumors that the remastered version of Gladiator will be available
to conincide with the release of Robin Hood.

Can anyone confirm this?

I didn't care for this one. Kinda sets up for the classic story. The ending ruined it for me with the D Day landing with midieval Higgins boats.....fantasy there.

OK film; not great considering the track record of those involved. I did not like it enough to purchase.

It would be nice wouldn't -- excellent even if we receive confirmation of this. But considering both films come from separate major studios, the possibility of a bundle is very unlikely. There is a greater chance that Paramount will take advantage of Universal's 'Robin Hood' debut by also releasing the remastered BD of 'Gladiator' with new barcode to retailers.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

Yes, getting the two together would be awesome but I agree with you that seeing as how the movies are from separate studios, the changes of that happening are very unlikely.

I'm just chomping at the bit to get my hands on the new Gladiator after seeing the tasty remastered screen caps!

I don't know if this was another case of the studio putting the cuffs on my man God Ridley, who I love so very much, but this was one of the biggest dissapointments for me this year. It doesn't resemble a Ridley movie, and Russell's appearance was old and heafty. My man should have gotten in better shape, and his white beard bothered me to no end.

I left the theater wondering how on earth this movie was released the way it was. If anyone kept a straight face while hearing "I declare him to be an outlaaaaaaaaaaaaaw" You are a better man than me.
I will not purchase unless this is a cut that I have not seen yet. I felt punched in the mouth after this one.

I pre-ordered the Robin Hood UK Steel Book Director's cut which has both versions, I'm not sure if the US version has both or only the DC, sounds like just the DC.

In terms of Gladiator here is some news on that http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=4901

Word on the street is that the new version of Gladiator is going to be released with the yellow UPC code.
