Default 'The Spy Next Door' - High-Def Digest Review

El Bicho has reviewed 'The Spy Next Door.' He says this doesn't even pass the test for children's entertainment. Jackie Chan carries the film, the rest of this is just bad. This Blu-ray has weak video, better audio, and EPK extras. You can skip this like a jumprope. In fact, just go jump rope.

You're too kind in giving this drivel of a movie 1.5 stars. As a huge Jackie Chan fan, I'd personally give this movie a -5 (negative 5) stars.

David, I wouldn't disagree with your score but Jackie entertained me enough to keep from fully despising the movie and thought that was worth something.

I hear ya, Lotree, but the guy probably has bills to pay and likely didn't make much on his way up

I never saw black crush or anything like that. Instead, I found the PQ to be outstanding-> 5 stars.

Ah... I don't know the specifics, I would have assumed the opposite, that he had made enough off previous movies that he could just pick roles he thought would be "fun" or "for kids" or whatever.

He may not have made bank from his HK stuff that was released later in English, or the early US stuff, but I assume he would be set for life from Rush Hour. Chris Tucker said in a Playboy interview that he was financially set from that movie and that's why he could afford to take 5 years off, get fat and hang with Bill Clinton.
