    i haven't seen (or even heard of it till yesterday) Crumb but American Splendor's a great, great film.

    I had no idea that Criterion was releasing this! I'm not sure that much can be done to improve things drastically in the PQ department (it was shot on 16mm, IIRC), but of course this amazing documentary doesn't depend on or require visual, erm, "splendor" (and speaking of that, I'd love for American Splendor to see a CC release as well!). The cover art here is AMAZING, the supplemental package looks fantastic, and I'm really looking forward to Zwigoff's new commentary (the older collaborative commentary with Ebert, thankfully retained here, is one of the best I've heard).

    My god I'm getting so excited for this just typing this reply...

    Sounds like a pretty interesting movie. I only know of Crumb's art and what little he was in American Splendor. Will probably check it out

    Crumb is an ok movie....he's a very weird guy,but a rental only for me. I saw it maybe 15 yrs ago.David Lynch produced it.

    Oh I remember when it came out, but was never tempted to rent it at that time.
    And I think the reviews were kind of mixed too.
