Default 'Armored' - High-Def Digest Review

Nate has reviewed 'Armored.' He says the film isn't half bad, especially considering it was literally directed by a Nimrod, but it's also got a few drawbacks. This Blu-ray is great, with strong video and audio and a few extras. Worth a look, but you'll definitely want to check it out before you consider a purchase.

All I can think about is some poor kid growing up with the name Nimrod.

Is this a documentary about tanks or something? I've honestly never even heard of it.

thank YOU.

i'm amazed at the path Jean Reno's career has taken. i suppose i was the right age when the Professional came out, and was instantly hooked on him, because damn if he's ever been that good in a lead or supporting role since. i expect way too much out of him, because he has shown he has talent and can perform at a very high level. the Crimson Rivers movies were a joke, at best.

The movie looks terrible, so this is not a defense of the movie. This is more a critique on the misuse of language. To which, I always find it amusing when someone uses Nimrod as an insult.
Nimrod
1.the great-grandson of Noah: noted as a great hunter. Gen. 10:810.
2.(sometimes lowercase) a person expert in or devoted to hunting.

It is a name of great honor. If someone is a Nimrod, they are someone to be respected, if not feared.

misuse or no, it is commonly referred to now as an ignoramus. just like calling a 1 cent piece a penny, common use has made it acceptable.

the use of nimrod as an insult stems back to, you guessed it, Bugs Bunny. he is referring to the man hunting him, Elmer Fudd, but it isn't a compliment, and is used to call him slow witted. or, at least, over the years, that is the connotation due to the fact that us 'mericans aren't too well read.

you are correct in definition, but incorrect in spirit and common use. adopted use. just like for a while bad meant good! how can that be!?!? ya know?
