Saw the 1st episode of Season 1, does it get much better?

The characters are interesting. Delving into
Spoiler
ruffies and rape

of the main character in the very 1st episode is brave and cutting edge TV.

But everything seems too convenient. Everyone seems to owe Veronica a
favor to be a key clog to solve the dilemma in the nick of time.

There's "dirt" which adds realism to the characters, and yet the outcomes
seem "too clean", too unrealistic.

Fans of Veronica Mars, were you fanatics from episode 1? Or did it take a
few episodes?

It definitely takes a few episodes for it to really pick up. For me, the fun of the show was watching how the season long mystery/story arc played out. Then, the "mystery of the week" type stuff is just ok. The relationship between the characters becomes really rewarding to watch as well.

Wait, so this movie is like Serenity in that you must watch the TV series in order to even enjoy this? Lame. I mean, I get it is meant to be a continuation of the series, but it should also be made for those who have never seen the tv series before.

I should point out that the name of the movie is actually just "Veronica Mars," not "Veronica Mars: The Movie."
