I thought the fairy was in Cinderella? I don't watch too many movies with fairies in them, for the obvious reasons.

The last animated feature that Walt had any personal involvement in was 'Jungle Book', NOT 'Sleeping Beauty'.

And 'Sleeping Beauty' was NOT Disney's first Cinemascope feature. Their first animated feature in Cinemascope was 'Lady & the Tramp" and the live-action '20,000 Leagues' was their first Cinemascope feature of any kind.
True to that...but I believe Sleeping Beauty was the first not to also have a 4:3 run in theatres. Lady and the Tramp actually has two versions, 1:33, and 2:55.

My wife will go nuts for this.

I'll go nuts over the PQ.

Good news all around.

I'm watching Finding Nemo on ABC in HD right now...looks pretty great!!!

I can't wait to see true Disney comics in Blu-ray 1080p. I know that computer animation from Pixar would be better suited - but I desired the real stuff also. I would love to see the "Lion King".

Hand drawn animation is truly an art form that is dying.
Speaking of misinformation, Monster House was not a Disney/Pixar film. It was a Sony Pictures animation, and I thought it sucked big time. The story line, I mean (though I must admit one part was particularly funny). There isn't a single movie with Pixar's name that I do not like, or that I do not have.

And about hand-drawn animation...I think I'd agree with you, except I'm not so optimistic. I think it's long gone.

In any case, I hate fairy tales. (Although Fairy Tale: A True Story happens to be one of my favorite movies...go figure.) And I'm generalizing that statement. But Sleeping Beauty, though IMO not a very good story, is inherently not very bad, either, and I haven't seen it since before I sold my VHS copy. Therefore, I will eagerly be purchasing it.
