easily my favorite movie this summer, I agree it's too bad more people didn't support it in theaters and instead watched the very mediocre Expendables. I will certainly be picking this one up on Blu-Ray.

There's something I don't understand: everybody claims they hate the current Hollywood trend of re-making old hits, like this: "Hollywood is so stupid; why can't they come up with something original"; but when a movie like this comes out it's like: "Oh, they were so clever in taking a lot of other people's ideas and making a movie. 5 stars". Can anyone explain this?

There's a difference between adaptation/interpretation and copy/paste.

1) I don't get all these "I'll blind buy people".....if they would have just seen it in the theaters, the movie wouldn't have done so poorly, and would ensure more "unique" movies being made.
2) to the dude who bit-torrented the movie....BOOOOOOOOO!

I was dead set on getting this on blu ray when i saw it in theaters, cuz the visual style kinda reminded me of speed racer, which was an absolute home run on blu in terms of PQ. Kinda bummed that its a bit duller on blu than was in theater, so idk if ill be getting it. my friend is absolutely going to get it, ill watch his first and then decide

Shit happens and I can't always make it to the theater. I'm still supporting the movie though, so I don't understand your complaint.

I understand that movies are bad or good regardless of their origin; what I wanted to point out is the contradiction: if suddenly all studios announced that all movies produced from now on will be re-makes, people would say "that is so lame!"; but if it were announced that all future films will be "reference-exploitation" movies like the one discussed here, the reply would be "that's so cool!", even though both types have the same origin: other people's ideas.

SO LEAVE RE-MAKES ALONE!!! (just kidding.)

I preferred to spend my hard earned dollars to see the very shit kicking Expendables at the theater. So what!

Well, you're only supporting the movie because you stole it, and decided you liked it....instead of doing it the honest way.
You wouldn't go into a restaurant and demand dinner for free....and then only pay for it if you liked it would you?
I understand there is a huge difference in people's "pirating" mindsets these days, and that a lot of it is generational....but I still hate it and feel like it hurts the industry and original films like this one

to HuskerGuy: for the record, I watched The Expendables in the theater a day after Scott Pilgrim. Just thought it was middle of the road and not near as good as Stallone's Rambo or even A-Team while Scott Pilgrim was a brilliant, funny, super cool and well made movie.
