'Life Is Beautiful' - High-Def Digest Review

Aaron has just reviewed 'Life Is Beautiful.' He says this is a tremendous film. This Blu-ray features solid video and audio, along with a small batch of extras. This is recommended for everyone.

Spot on with the review....I've had the Alliance release that came out over a year ago (previously reviewed on Blu-ray.com), and this appears to have the same A/V transfer and supplements. Much more enjoyable than the old non-anamorphic dvd :)

I think you answered my question - I also have the Alliance release, and was pretty disappointed in the Video quality, especially at the beginning. I felt that it was little better than my previous DVD release. If the Lionsgate release used a new transfer, I would pick it up on the spot. But, it sounds like you are saying its the same transfer, so I think I will pass on this release.

Aaron, have you seen the Alliance release? Do you know if its the same transfer?

Nice write-up Aaron. I agree that a majority of films have no sign of this type of character which makes this movie a refreshing change. Time for me to see it again.. At the price Amazon has this for, It's going in my wife's gift pile for sure.

Thanks guys. And to answer the question, no. I haven't seen the Alliance release, so I can't really comment on it.

Thanks, Aaron. Picked this up as a Blind Buy at BB on Black Friday for $3.99. Glad it's recommended.

Oh well, its a must-have movie at least. I probably won't buy the Lionsgate for myself as I have the Alliance release, but I picked up a copy of the Lionsgate for my mom. Even after shipping and gift-wrapping, it was under $10, so I couldn't beat that.
