I thought Peacemaker and Perfect Storm were very good performances by George as well. I think he would have made a good Gladiator as well had he been cast.

Actors who begin in television don't always make it big in film, but George Clooney has proven that if one has real talent and star power, the transition isn't impossible. If Clooney is the best example...
No denying that Clooney made the transition, but I would think Will Smith is the best example of making the transition. Plus I remember when ER was on, it seemed like a forgone conclusion that Clooney was going to be a movie star (like many assume Jon Hamm is today), but there was some skepticism with Smith making it before Bad Boys opened.

Michael Clayton is my favorite Clooney flick.

I don't remember much about Peacemaker, but despite some terrible decisions by Wolfgang Peterson, I really like The Perfect Storm as well.

How could I have completely forgotten about Will Smith?! I'm a Will Smith fan too!

For my money, George's best performance comes in Solaris. An overlooked gem is Welcome To Collinwood. And Return of the Killer Tomatoes is a personal favorite of mine.

All along I've thought that I was the only person in the world that liked Solaris. Glad to know I'm not alone!

Agreed. Collinwood was a pretty funny sleeper comedy.
