i didn't bother grabbing one, so hearing it's an inferior book, i'm more more pleased with my decision. stickerbooks will NOT happen with my bd collection. i only have 2 steels, and i'm not going to get into the cheaper versions of 'em.

this one's coming pretty damn soon. one month away!

It looks pretty cheap, the inside as well. So smart move.

Is this a thread about LOTR? ...That's OK, just saying, that's all.

* Anyway, I couldn't care less about the Theatrical versions, but everybody know that already.
... So this is a WB release, right?
Or is it FOX? ...Perhaps Alliance Atlantis!?

in the USA, it's NEW LINE, which is a part of WB.

it's entirely possible that it could be NEW LINE or ALLIANCE in Canadia. it ain't FOX, though. I doubt WB sold off any of the worldwide distribution rights on this set, way too much guaranteed worldwide money.

Well Nate, I knew that. New Line has been strictly folded now unto WB.

As for FOX or Alliance, I was just expressing my discontentement on how they do bad business, that's all.
And WB (by reference) is similar to those studios in some BD title's releases (DD+ soundtrack only!).
...And in this case here with LOTR, only the Theatrical versions.

* By the way, "Canada" without an "i". Just correcting.

Does anyone know if there are pictures out there of the regular release (not the Steelbook)? I noticed this from thedigitalbits.com:

Quote:
As far as packaging, you get a glossy, embossed slipcase containing 2 Blu-ray plastic cases. One of them is thicker, and contains 6 discs (the 3 film Blu-rays and the 3 extras DVDs). The second is a standard thickness case and contains the 3 Digital Copy discs and some promotional inserts.
I'd just like a look at the two separate cases.

to expound on that post, one is thicker, like a csi season case (rounded corners, not like the fat uk/disney cases), while the other is standard thickness. the box each goes into is super sturdy. the blu label and back specs aren't attached, much like the clone wars season 1 paper.

they look identical, just one says digital copies. there's no real back art to either, just cast/company credits. very generic.
