'David Gilmour: Remember That Night' -- pre-release buzz

Sony BMG has announced their latest music title to hit Blu-ray:

Though a David Gilmour solo show, it will mark the next-gen debut of any Pink Floyd hits.

No full specs yet, but the concert was captured using 1080i cameras and will offer a PCM 5.1 surround mix.

That's weird, why would David post on his blog it is coming to HD-DVD and Blu-ray if it's distributed via Sony BMG?

Still, looking foward to it.

Edit: Apparently it's listed in the UK as a format neutral release. I guess on his blog he was referring to the UK and not North America. He also mentions the dvd will be a 2 disc set. I hope we don't get jipped on extras.

Cool, this is gonna sound great. Good setlist too, "Echoes" is especially nice addition.

I will definitely pick this up. It's kinda ironic that they put this out since I was thinking how good the Wall would look in HD!! That would be totally kick ass!!
Look how long it took for that to come to dvd though I wouldn't hold my breath for the HD or Blu Ray version!!
Mischa.

This is a bit of a trivial gripe, but David Gilmour was not a founding member of Pink Floyd, contrary to what the article states.

What, 1080i and not p? Maybe I am a bit picky but I like p much better than i. But that will not take away from the music. It should rock.

1080P isn't a broadcast format. 720/60P or 1080/60i is it (or 50P and 50i in Europe). Even 1080P content is generally delivered within a 1080i video stream.

Should still look fantastic.

I'm definately looking forward to this one. It's starting to trickle with music and concert releases. (Not that Sony has a shortage of artists or titles:)

Eventhough 1080i is the broadcast standard, they could have recorded it at 1080p for later duplication.

I do agree that it will look great anyways.

I'll likely buy this although it's expensive. What i really want is Delicate Sound of Thunder though. That would be something.
