Excellent review, Aaron! Could you take another look at your "vital disc stats"? It seems to me you have copied the last paragraph of "our reviewer's take".

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. It's been fixed.

Nice, early review. Saw the trailer for it some months back and thought it looked interesting, look forward to renting it asap. Am a big fan of the Cronenberg/Mortensen marriage.

Then you'll definitely dig this movie.

Just watched and, before I get into it, must say, other than being a fan of the Cronenberg/Mortensen duo, Psychology, next to history is perhaps my favorite subject. With that out the way, it almost comes as no surprise I pretty much loved this movie.

My biggest doubt going in was Keira Knightley, simply put, other than her role in Domino, am not the biggest fan of her. I may have to re-evaluate my thoughts on her. I thought she did a magnificent job in the role of troubled patient, Sabina Spielrein. In fact, I think, she might have stole the show so to speak. The performances by Mortensen and Fassbender, as rival Psychoanalists, Freud and Jung, respectively, were excellent as well. I also enjoyed the beautiful cinematography, coupled in contrast with the some of the intense acting and subject matter on screen, it was all pretty sublime to me.

I highly recommend but as always...lol, it won't be for everyone. Despite some intense situations, it's an overall slow paced character study, and an educational film akin to a documentary that am sure will be off putting to some, especially if Psychology is not your favorite subject, moviemay not do much for you. Nonetheless, it's well acted and well made, and kindly urge anyone looking for something different to rent and check it out, might be pleasantly surprised.
