Any word on James Bond movies getting released on Blu-Ray?

This would b awsome! It would b annoying though if they came out with another set! When r they gonna understand the franchise will never end, every year theres an ultimate set. But anyway any word on Bond movies comin to Blu-Ray.

I don't know, I bought all 4 volumes of the Ultimate Edition on DVD.

I can say that they were wonderfully remastered and even the older ones from the 60's and 70's look extremely good upconverted through my PS3.

So I don't think I would be double dipping, especially since all 4 volumes of the Ultimate Edition was not cheap.

That being said, they obviously have already spent the time and money to remaster all of them, so it should be fairly cheap to release them on Blu Ray.

Yeah my wife got all four box sets of the Ultimates for $125. I thought that was cheap but then one of the B&M had a set for like $20 bucks. Anyhow being as that Would be $30 x 19 movies I'd probably pass, they look pretty nice upconverted.

Unless they fix much of the problems they had on the SDs version, these will not be favorably reviewed anywhere so EON should make sure they only release a few titles at a time on BR, and all fixed.

For example :

Goldfinger : wrong aspect ratio (the image scan is off balance, revealing too much top information, making the editing seems strange in many places, -it flows perfectly on past DVDs transferts-)

Thunderball : all the vivid colors of DP Ted Moore are toned down, which is an heresy

YOLT : all the vivid colors of DP Freddie Young, who was know for his great use of technicolor, are so much toned down, the movie is almost black and white when compared to the old disc of the laserdisc.

Goldeneye : They made a mistake and used a zoomboxed TV print instead of the original IP or negative.

etc etc not speaking of excessive use of Edge Enhancement !

But yes, they might come out with a few of those in one year when Bond 22 is out

Other than Casino Royale, the rest of the older Bond films are distributed by Fox now, so there is some possibility of them coming out on Blu-ray.

Unfortunately, knowing Fox, they'll announce some titles, then postpone them at the last minute, then postpone them again, then cancel them, then re-announce them, then postpone them again. :)

honestly, the bond series has gone through so many releases, the original box sets (multi colored boxes), the 2nd box sets (vol 1 2 3, w/ 3 being super rare), the singles releases, the ultimate editions, and now the single disc versions of all the ultimates....I'm sick of paying for James freakin Bond right now lol

I'd go for a title or two, the ones I love (Goldeneye, Man with the Golden Gun) no matter what, but if they do boxsets for blu-ray, having to pay money again for some of the stinkers (ie, moonraker, license to kill, live and let die) would put the instant kabosh on it

i hera ya n8, ill pass on any blu ray. those films are fine upconverted. i rarely rebuy movies from dvd to blu ray or hd dvd. i rather buy new films, than waste money on older ones.

I'd definately buy the Brosnan films. I'm too young to appreciate the older ones I guess.

+1

I have always been bored by any Bonds pre-Brosnan. Die Another Day was pretty terrible, but the Brosnan flicks are my favorite Bonds besides the new Daniel Craig Bond.
