Default Foreign films with English subs and/or English language track

What are some good Blu-rays out there, those in foreign languages but which offer English subs? There were only about half a dozen or so foreign language HD DVDs that had them, or about 15% or so. Are there any gems out there that are worth checking out?

Here are some foreign movies (non-English original language) (didn't include any animation stuff) with English subs with my personal evaluation comments if I have seen them:

Japan:
- The Magic Hour (great)
- Shaolin Girl (really bad)
- Silver Season
- Swing Girls (great)
- Tegami
- Water Boys (good)

Nordic:
- Fanny & Alexander (Sweden, great)
- Ganes (Finland, very good)
- Kautokeino-opprøret (Norway, great)
- Rovdyr (Norway)

France:
- Chrysalis (ok)
- L'ennemi intime (Intimate Enemies) (great)
- MR 73 (great)
- Paris (ok)
- Pars vite et reviens tard (Have Mercy on Us All)
- Personne aux deux personnes, La (Me Two)
- Les Poupées russes
- Running Wild (very good)
- Tell No One (Ne le dis à personne) (great)
- Vampire Cop Ricky (so so)
- Les Visiteurs

Germany:
- Keinohrhasen

UK:
- Ashes of Time Redux (good)
- Assembly (very good)
- Caché (Hidden) (great)
- Days of Glory (Indigènes) (good)
- Downfall (Der Untergang) (great)
- Femmes de l'ombre, Les (Female Agents) (very good)
- Gomorrah (Gomorra) (ok)
- Guard Post (G.P. 506) (ok)
- I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (very good)
- Mad Detective [Masters of Cinema]
- The Red Desert
- Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom
- Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (great)
- Zatoichi (PAL menu problem)

Russia:
- Admiral (ok)

There are many Asian films available in Hong Kong / Korea / Taiwan with English subs as well if you like Asian movies. I don't have a list at hand to refer to. A great reference site for info on those is: http://www.asianblurayguide.com/

Some of the European ones are region B locked, but I guess you (bruceames) have an LG player for such cases anyway...

Yeah, should have included The Seventh Seal. I focused on those which are not available on HD DVD as I know Bruce has pretty much all of the HD DVD releases already.

I really appreciate that list, Kannisto. I'm going to start by getting Swing Girls and The Magic Hour at HMV, since they have the multibuy still.

Yeah, and I think Kautokeino-opprøret is available in Sweden nowadays too (generic Nordic release by SF Films) so it could be ordered from e.g. Megastore Sweden together with Fanny & Alexander, as an idea

Piano 17 (Plan 17) is a region free/English subtitled BD from Italy that's also worth getting imo.
