Default Ashes of Time: Redux [UK]

Amazon.co.uk lists an Artificial Eye release of Wong Kar-Wai's Ashes of Time Redux for January 26, 2009.

Cool! I wanted to see this in the theater when it ran earlier this year, but missed it. I guess I can tack it onto my next UK order now.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'll probably get this and Chungking Express from UK as well. I just hope they don't have that SD PAL menu thing which Zatoichi had according to Ahsoka's report.

Thanks for the notice on these!

I've contacted AE about their PAL menus that render their releases unplayable on NTSC players (just like my imported US PS3 ).
Maybe it helps if other people write them as well so they see that there are people who care about technical details like that.

I could do that but I didn't actually buy Zatoichi

I wonder why they made Caché (Hidden) just right without such a problem but messed up with Zatoichi though the releases were expected to come out on the same day...

I haven't actually yet run into a release on my own where specifically an SD PAL menu would render the release unplayable on my Japanese PS3. I'd have to try to rebuild the main feature content on my PC without the menu when that happens.

Do you have their contact address already somewhere?

I would like to keep up with all of the Artificial Eye releases.
They are a great UK label for sure.
can you get "Zatoichi" to play on a panny bd-30?
This sounds similar to another title that had PAL trailers before the movie.
I think people with bd-30s can get to the movie if a title has PAL trailers, but
Is it different if the menu is in PAL?
Hadn't heard about that before.
Are there other titles with PAL menus that won't play on US players?

My Ashes of Time Redux shipped today from Amazon UK (got the e-mail confirmation). That'll be the 5th Wong Kar-Wai movie in my Blu-ray collection

I ended up getting Criterion's version of Chungking Express in the meanwhile, I watched it recently and was very happy with it in terms of PQ/AQ and of course the movie itself.

And the 3 that are not on Blu-ray are his 3 best films! Save the best for last.
