Default "Zodiac: Director's Cut" coming to Blu-ray in the UK on April 28

First "Beowulf", then "Sweeney Todd", now "Zodiac" joins the ranks of HD DVD "exclusives" that are exclusive no longer. Warner UK has already started listing it at retailers:

Amazon UK

HMV

If Sweeney Todd and Zodiac are both region free, I will definately be ordering them.

All of Warner's titles in the US and abroad are region-free, and Warner has publicly stated they will continue to be region-free indefinitely.

Not if an NA player can play them.

BTW, format bashing is against the rules in this area of the forum. If you want to talk about PiP or the A3 or web doohickeys, take it somewhere else.

Have you looked at the price for the SD DVD? It's outrageous! $25 for a DVD? On Amazon, the HD DVD can be had for $3 more...

I am very interested in Zodiac. When I saw the price for the DVD, I decided I'd hold out for a Blu-ray version or a big sale, whichever came first. Well, I'm happy the Blu-ray came first.

Question: will this be the same as the currently released HD DVD? As in, will most or all of the features be in HD? I ask only because this is probably the only title I'm actually interested in bonus content for, in particular, the 1.5 hour special on the actual Zodiac case.

I guess I just have a general import question: if material is encoded in 480i or 480p, does PAL come into play? DVDs are NTSC and PAL encoded, so if they're porting over those features, will they work on an American player?
