Nice. This title is too strong to not be released at some point in the U.S. It's just a matter of when.

Very weird artwork. Is that a vintage design, or something created for the disc?

It's vintage. I believe it was the original French poster art.

Yes this is vintage European artwork from the original release - below is the Dutch version which is tweaked slightly but I will be interested to see which art is chosen for the :iconbluraypng: release itself...

Wasn't this originally released on TV?

I have the DVD version, so I'm waiting to see if there is any real bump in quality here.

It was a TV movie in the United States, but it played theatrically in Europe.

I remember waking up to this movie from my couch about 10:00 pm in the 1980's. I hadn't seen it before so the timing was perfect and needless to say I really got into it, since just waking up makes you more game for these types of movies.

Oh wow! So does that mean there exists a 16:9 version??

Technically, yes. A widescreen version was prepared for European theaters.

However, Duel has never been released in widescreen on video. Even the HDTV version of the film that occasionally plays on HDNET Movies -- the extended, slightly altered "Director's Cut" included on the Collector's Edition DVD -- is 4:3
