Default Flash Gordon 1980 (Germany) on BD from May 6th

Well here comes Mike Hodges camp, OTT, and hugely enjoyable 1980 romp hitting for the first time from the 6th of May.
With its garish special effects and now iconic Queen score, Flash Gordon really has carved itself its own niche in motion picture history. This was actually producer Dino de Laurentiis' most expensive production ever.
Tongue firmly in cheek from start to finish, this remains for me a very guilty pleasure. The cast is top notch with Max Von Sydow as Ming, Timothy Dalton as Barin, Brian Blessed as Vultan, Peter Wyngarde as Klytus, and Topol as Dr Zarkov. Then newcomer Sam Jones is Flash Gordon and Melody Anderson is Dale.

Specs include:

Widescreen (2.35:1 - anamorph)
1080p/24

DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 English
DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 French
DTS HD Master Audio 2.0 German
DTS HD Master Audio 2.0 Spanish

Subtitles:
German, French, Spanish, Dutch

Audio Commentary with Mike Hodges
Interview with Mike Hodges
Trailer

A Day One buy for moi.

I must have watched this film a dozen times growing up. Definitely include me in any type of a group buy.
