Default 32" Television. 1366 x 768 pixels resolution good for Blu Ray?

Hi Hi-Def Digest users.
It's probably a dumb question thats been asked over a thousand times.
But i'm new to this site, and i'm also new to the world of technology.

Basically i've got a 32" Hitachi Hi-Def television, and i just wanted to know would there be much difference if i got a blu ray player?
Answers and help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about technology and everything. So please have mercy. And i was on a budget when i got the t.v. And i was just wondering if there was a huge difference with blu ray than there was regular dvds on this kind of resolution.

I know it must sound dumb. But blu ray players, and blu rays are quite an expensive thing to start getting into. I just want to know i'm making the right choice.

Thanks for any help!

- Jo!!

Yes.
This TV is good enough for Blu-ray.

You would definitely see a difference. I have a 32 " Samsung and watching Blu Ray is like night and day over SD DVD. It also depends how far you are sitting from it also. But I'll have to warn you, once you see it your gonna be wanting a larger screen.

I have a 32-inch Sharp in my bedroom and I'd say there's an appreciable difference in picture quality, even over high-def broadcasts (which are overly compressed and, from my cable provider at least, often filled with artifacts). And keep in mind that the player will upconvert your DVDs as well. Just make sure your TV has an HDMI port...

Exactly....

I also agree you may want a larger T.V., but heck most do in time....I consider it sometimes myself.....guilty pleasure, I'd guess.

+1. Everything that has been posted by fellow HDD members are spot on. Welcome to the site JoshMcCracken.

Once you go blu...you never go back.

I think SD DVDs would look great on this set with a good upconverting DVD player.
