Default Lossless over 5.1 analog outs?

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm going to give myself the gift of blu. Just curious what Blu-Ray Disc players on the market allow lossless audio over 5.1 analog outputs a la Toshiba's HD-A1. My receiver does not have HDMI and I'm quite satisfied with the lossless audio I get from the HD-A1, so if I can find a BD player with this same feature, my journey to format neutrality will be that much more painless.

Thanx in advance!

Does your receiver have more than one set of multichannel inputs though?

My receiver has only one 5.1 input, however this issue can be solved with a component video switcher doubling as a 5.1 audio switcher.

Never would have thougt of that, but still how would you get the LFE channel to switch, or are there component video switches that have more than 5 RCA connections per channel?

I think the only blu-ray player that DOESN'T have multichannel output is the PS3.

The RCA HD4DCA switcher has a 6th connection in each of the channels. It can be had for under $35 from Buy.com.

So are you saying that all Blu-Ray disc players out of the box will allow full lossless audio playback over 5.1 analog? If so, that's sweet. My Toshiba required a firmware upgrade to enable lossless audio over 5.1 analog. I guess I assumed that like the Toshiba, some BD models would need a firmware upgrade. But that's why I shouldn't assume...

Not certain on anything, but what could it hurt to pick up Samsung's $500 Blu-ray player from Best Buy and try.
