Question Best Bang for the buck

i am wanting to buy into this blu-ray side of the war too but i cant seem to find a cheap player..what would be the cheapiest player(and where at to buy) but will still support BDJ whether its in a firmwire update or on the system

PS3 - Sony has said it's the only player out right now that BDJ will be "guaranteed" to work with.

Take this for what it's worth, but Sony also promised that PS3 would have full PS1/PS2 backwards compatibility out of the box, and we all know what happened with that one.

thats 500.... i mean 600 bucks..i has hoping to get in around $350-400...like the price of the A2 on amazon

Perhaps since they've axed the 20 GB they'll end up cheap somewhere online, who knows.

Most PS2, PS1 games work. Only few have "may perform differently than on a PS2" according to the ps website.

Unfortunately one of the cons of the Blu-ray market right now is the relatively high entry price point compared to HD DVD. A quick search shows that you can find the Samsung BD-P1000 on eBay for about $450 shipped (link) but there is no confirmation of whether or not it will fully support BDJ when its released.
