Talking Just bought a PS3...

... and it feels pretty good. Although I was (am) an ardent hD DVD supporter, having bought over 60, with ten earlier today, I decided to purchase a Blu Ray player. I was looking for a combo one, then at the Panasonic, then decided on a PS 3, since I wouldn't have to worry too much about the profiles. Anywho, also bought Shoot em up and Kingdom of heaven and just wanted to say that I drank the blue kool aid and I'm still here!

The PS3 is an excellent Blu-ray player. You won't be dissappointed.

The only gripe I have with my PS3 is the fan noise.

I just bought a PS3 only to use as a Blu-ray player and I have no problem with the fan noise. I can not tell it is even on.

I got my 80gb 8/07 and hear very little fan noise next to the machine. I sit 10 feet away and hear nothing. Unfortunately, it the basement, the furnace and hot water heater are both very loud when they are on.

Mine was a launch/Nov. 2006 PS3, I guess those sucked as far as fan noise.

I've got a 60gb. Fan is super quiet, but man does that thing pump some heat out the side.

FYI - Don't stack stuff on the right side unless you want it about 20 degrees above room temp ; )

My 80gb makes little noise, I like it a lot. I have it sitting on its left side, which is supposed to keep it cooler, and the fan never kicks into high speed. My XA2 makes about as much noise. Once the PS3 has DTS-HD decoding and profile 2.0, it'll be the most kick ass thing out there.
