Question NOW: The Very BEST Blu-ray Player?

Now that I know I don't have to mess with buying a Samsung BD-UP5000 (the sweet dual-format player), HOW THE HELL DO I SHOP FOR A BLU-RAY PLAYER???

What technical specs are most important? What features are better than others?

Any and ALL information helps.

Thanks again in advance everyone!

Default Currently it's the PS3

The PS3 is the MOST complete player available, fully 2.0 compliant. It will NOT decode one lossless codec.

Otherwise you can wait or buy a 1.1 compliant player now.

I have a BDP-1400 and a PS3. Both are good players, I have not had the issues that some have had with the 1400. The PS3 is a great player though. The remote isn't perfect but it's adequate and it's not too expensive for $25.00. Since it's Bluetooth you don't even have to point it anywhere to make it work which is kinda nice sometimes.

Good luck.

Is that confirmed? Cuz that's kind of a big margin of time, especially since the earlier of the two months is very close

If you allready have a PC that meets the spec, you could do like I did, and get the LG combo player (GGC-H20L Blu-Ray HD DVD Combo Drive CAD$219.00). I just picked on up, allong with PowerDVD, and AnyDVD, and it is working great ( after a little tweeking and software agrevation ). It even does HD-DVD better than my A3, cuz A3 is having problems with Combo's. So far I have watched Pirates3, and rise of the Siver surfer ( rented ) and they look great. I plan to start buying blu rays shortly. The player is also a DVD/CD burner, with lightscribe, so its a good value. LG makes a combo with blu burning but it is much more expensive.

This option is only cheeper for me cuz I allready have a computer that is up to spec, The spec can be found on the Cyberlink web site, under producs, PowerDVD, system requirements.
