Default Samsung BD-P1400

What about this to use other than a ps3 as it has an Ethernet port in it.

Ethernet port is included for over the air upgrades although this can also be performed via a separate recorded disc , if required (disc not provided)

I'm not sure what you're asking, but the BD-P1400 is a good solid BD player. it can't be update to profile 2.0 so if that's what you want I'd suggest either waiting for newer upcoming SA's or getting a PS3.

On the other hand, this player supports audio options that the PS3 does not and will never support. Such as the ability to bitstream all of the latest high def codecs, and internally decode DTS-HD/MA (PS3 *MIGHT* one day get this ability, but as of yet this is unknown).

it lacks the physical hardware required, IE secondary decoders required for PiP, also Profile 2.0 has specific internal storage requirements which this player likely doesn't meet.
