Default Fully functional BD player

Is there any estimate on a fully functional (i.e. final profile) BD player for that can be found under $100?

You're not even going to find a fully functional 1.0 player for that price. There have been reports that the BD-P1200 can be found for around $100, but it is profile 1.0 and the glitchiest player on the market.

Hell, I'm still waiting for a fully functional blu ray player at under $500.

HD DVD was certainly more mature in this respect. I've got a big pile of mint in the box blu ray discs I've purchases in BOGO's just assuming that someday someone will produce a player that meets my not not-particularly-ridiculous criteria of supporting all audio formats accurately over HDMI 1.3, and having ethernet.

Maybe I'm nuts, but this doesn't seem to be THAT much to ask.

Dude could you be anymore stingy? The answer is a big HELL NO. The Toshiba HD-A3 isn't even 100 dollars so why would you think any blu ray players, players that play the leading HD format right now, would have any players that are good that are less than even 300 dollars? That's like asking Sylvester Stallone, "Hey sir, do you know if I could find a set of movies about oh, say, a boxer who went from rags to riches all because he had heart and that is what carried him throughout his life? And say, it have oh, six parts? I'd really like to watch something like that." Dont mean to sound like a jerk but man that was a stupid question.

Here's a not-so-ridiculous answer to your ridiculous question:

I'll bet it wont be long before you'll find a fully functional HDDVD player for less than $100.

The BD-P1400 is the cheapest standalone out there and it does all that.

By this definition of 'Final Profile', that fits with 1.1 standards. So for that, the Panasonic DMP-BD30K fits that category.

BD-Live or "Profile 2.0" is a completely optional classification that is not mandatory by any means. That means it'll be an extra-cost addition.

Yeah, in about 3 or 4 years from now. Aren't you one of the big hd fanboys who said you won't go Bluray anytime soon? Are you thinking of switching? Just curious.
