Umm....do you mean the standard version or the Hidef...because if it is the Hidef it is an HD DVD (Universal exclusive), that wont play on your PS3!! If you mean SD version then not sure at all, I've never had a problem with PS3's and SD DVD's, never even heard of that kind of problem.

Does the disc play in other players? I'd start with that, and then investigate on AVS to see if anyone else has had this problem specifically with Apollo 13.

It's not completely unheard of for a player to refuse to play a certain disc, as the first Panasonic BD player refused to play Fellowship of the Ring until Firmware 2.2 (or so) update. It functions now.

Well, I tried it in my computer and on one drive it would not recognize it and on the other drive it wanted me to set the region. After I did that, I burned a copy and it works. It must have something to do with the regional encoding..

What region does it list on the box/disc? Should look like this if you are in US

It shows region 1. I bought it at best buy in Madison WI and the PS3 also. No problem with any other discs...

You've got two possibilities, either the disc is slightly out of tolerance or the PS3 is going out of alignment. Try the disc in another PS3 - if it works, you know your PS3 is having issues and you should get it checked out.
