Default Samsung BD-P1200

I just got off the phone with Onecall and I placed my order for the new Samsung BD-P1200 due out in March. They don't have a date for when they'll be in stock, nor how many they will be able to get at first, so I thought what the heck. It's being sold for $799.00. ..the same as the MSRP. I was hoping for a bit cheaper, but I'm sure that will be the price at all places it's sold at least for the first few months. As of now, it is not listed on their site, nor anyone else's site for that matter. And on Samsungs site...it's still listed for March, but no date. Hope they won't delay it.

PS...if it's not appropreate to list the site, I'm sorry

This should be a quality player. The price will probably drop to match the price of the Sony in the summer though.

I am looking forward to purchasing this 2nd gen Sammy. I have the BD-P1000 and have been happy with it until the second firmware update. It seems to be glitchy now. Never had problems before. This new model should be far superior to any Blu-ray player on the market. Samsung has learned from their first model what needed to be fixed. However, I don't think the new model is as handsome a piece of hardware like the piano black finish of the BD-P1000.

Does anyone know if Samsung has officially stated that this player will support BD-Video 1.1?

The only problem with this player is no lossless audio decoding built-in. Samsung's BD product manager told me they will have lossless decoding in the G3 players.

Otherwise I love this player, 1080p 24/60 Hz, HDMI 1.3 fast and slick.

At least you can get a 1.3 receiver to do it for you...
