Exclamation BD Hardware help

Hi guys, I want to know your advice on the top of the line stuff I can get for BD like the whole home theater setup and everything like that. What kind of tv, bd player, etc.

I'm 17 years old and I enjoy gaming which leads to the PS3 being a really good SA. My rpoblem is that I have this cabinet thing where the tv goes in the middle and the max is like a 37" tv can be placed in it. 35" for good measure. My dad loves Sony products but they are on the expensive side. I like Samsung but I don't know if there are any 30" ranging HDTV's that do 1080P.

So I would like you advice on they types of HDTV's I should get as well as BD player. Since I want a PS3, that's one down in the gaming room but for the living room I need another. I know LCD's are better for gaming, so maybe a plasma in teh living room?

Also with my tv serivce ( Direct TV), I think I might need a new reciever correct? Thanks for your help

Thanks RoadLizard for your reply:

Forget 1080p...waste of money. Get yourself a nice plasma set for main viewing and then grab any decent LCD for gaming. Go as BIG as you possibly can for TV size, even going slightly over budget to get a larger screen size since whatever you buy will *appear* to get smaller as time goes on. Trust me. A good 42" plasma is a GREAT choice. Again, any LCD will do for the gaming system.

And yeah, you'll have to talk to DirecTV to see what you need for the HD options.

Choose at least a 40" if you go with a 1080p TV
Under this screen size you won' t see a difference with a 720p at the required watching distance.
