Default Sharp Aquos BDHP20U

curious if this supports web-enabled and PiP? Im not sure if this player is capable of updating its firmware like the PS3 or has the current firmware for PiP and web-enabled loaded.

do any of you know?

No, the Sharp is a fine player but is not profile 1.1, therefore no web or PIP capabilities. The firmware is updatable via web download to a usb flash drive that inserts in a jack on the back of the player.

thanks, they were giving it away with a sharp television at BB but I'll pass on it.

*edit* is there a list of profile 1.1 and 2.0 (future) players anywhere?

I use a Sharp at the moment, the build quality and menu feels cheap.

Picture quality is OK, but the sound through 5.1 analog isn't good

Firmware wont help if the hardware dont exist in the box. Or simply no there is no way to make it 2.0 or 1.1 compliant.
