1. How much do you want to spend?
2. What features do you crave?
3. When do you want to buy it?

1. 1K (roughly) Would pay more if it was worth the difference

2. Features, the main thing is the overall speed of the machine (Don't need 7.1)

3. Today (or by next week)

lol many do. We just have other things besides the web.

I own 3 Blu-ray machines. the PS3, the Sony S1 and the Sony Blu-ray player/burner for PC's.

If your looking to spend a $1,000. I would recommend the Sony unit. Startup time is great on it, not mind blowing fast but faster then the Samsung unit for example and its got a very nice design and remote to it.

Its about freaking time... err... I guess I can say that in Nov/Dec. Still, If I can't hold out that long (maybe get my BD player by summer), I'll still end up getting a PS3 instead, since they'll likely be the same price. Nonetheless... progress is good. One step closer to bringing the gift of HD to the masses.
