Default PS3 and digital audio

Would anyone know why I am not getting DTS or Dolby Digital from my PS3? I hooked up a fiber optic digital audio cable to my receiver, but it appears that the receiver is only outputting dolby pro logic. There is probably a setting I have to adjust. Any input would help.

BTW, for anyone that has seen my posts on this site, I am now officially purple.

Its an old receiver, but I can get my Tosh. A2 to work with it fine. I bought it like 7 years ago, called a Teac. It decodes Dolby Digital and DTS, so it should work.

You have to go into the audio settings and configure it to pass them (check mark). There are two spots for configuring audio though, (one in movie settings I believe, and one in system settings) and both have to be set correctly for it to work.

I just got the thing yesterday, and just plugged it in. I messed around with some of the settings, probably not enough. Thanks!!

All DVD and BD players need to have their audio setup to work properly. They default to 2 channel PCM through toslink automatically

I guess not the HD DVD players? I pretty much took it out of the box, plugged it in, and had everything at my fingertips.

go to your audio settings and set the optical to do bitstream. Then tell it your system can do DTS and Dolby Digital.

My Denon players were setup correctly from the factory as well (including for DTS), which was a surprise since 99% of players I've owned were not
