Default 1.1 or 2.0-HELP!

Hello,
I am in the process for looking for a new Blu Ray player, I currently have a Sony BDP-S1 and love it! The reason for the purchase is simple, I would like to take full advantage of the profile difference that is now being offered by the studios (Sunshine). I guess my question is what is the real difference between 1.1 and 2.0? Is 2.0 only the internet connections?? I am all about the picture in picture that 1.1 can offer.

Oops one more question.
What about the new Panosonic player that comes with profile 1.1?? I have been looking around and that player seems to be the one and only right now. The feed back and reviews have been postive, can anyone else concure? It seems well worth the price...

Any help would be awesome.

Thank you,
Jimfear

I would certainly go with the Panny bd-30. Many members on here have it and like it. It does not have an ethernet port so it will never be 2.0
1.1 is for the PiP features that require a secondary video stream.
2.0 is internet connectivity.
If you want 1.1 you have 2 good choices at the moment--PS3 or bd-30.
That's about it currently.

Since you already have a BD player, I would personally hold out until the 2.0 players come out later this year. My thought process on holding out is the only stand alone 1.1 player is the Panny BD-30 which Arkadin mentioned however without a newer receiver you will not be able to take advantage of the lossless audio codecs. Panny and Sony should have their 2.0 players out later this year that will allow you to internally decode these audio codecs as well as bitstream them depending on your setup.

I would probably agree with Donut on this also unless you are just REALLY in a hurry. There aren't but a few 1.1 discs that even exist currently. Wait for the BD-50 which is due in the Spring maybe.
It will be 2.0 and will INTERNALLY decode the hd audio codecs also which could be a major plus depending on your equipment.
