Default Ugh Fantastic 4 froze my BDP 1400 Player!

F2 ROTSS froze it on the menu today! I dont have the latest 1.1 firmware though, will that solve the problem and has this movie messed up your players and the new firmware fixed it?

Dunno how about you flash your player and let us know if it fixed it?

From everything i've seen blu-ray stand alones seem like junk. All of the playback problems are always report on blu-ray standalones.

Almost seems like the stand alone sales are so low and ps3 sales are so high they don't even bother testing disks on the other players just the ps3.

I'd recommend the ps3 if you can get over the fan noise.

I returned 3 of these players before I finally got a 60GB PS3. FF2 has had problems on these players, as has Day After Tomorrow and Spider-Man 2/2.1. The firmware has actually caused audio drop outs on several players.

You have nothing worthwhile or relevant to add to this topic.

Yeah, I say update the firmware and if you still have problems then I would worry. I don't think you'll have a problem though once you update, vaguely remember reading that the newer Fox titles may require firmware updates. Both formats are still developing regardless of what people say, just keep those players updated with the latest firmware.

This deal of the firmware sometimes back fires on us. It supposes to fix the issue and most of the times it does the job however in multiple occasions the firmware creates a different issue with the player.

For example my HD-A2 player was working fine, loading times were very fast, after the last firmware update my player started acting weird. It has a lack of time of a few seconds if we can call it like that. When I open the disc tray, the player takes about 5 seconds to recognize the command. In the other hand my Samsung BD-1400 it has not been update since I bought it and I will not until I have a real problem with a specific movie I own. If itís a rental I will let it go and try the SD DVD because sometimes for one movie we start an unnecessary mess. If itís not a picture or audio issue with 80% of the movies or a major upgrade I say donít do it. IMO

I am very skeptical about the ISO files burned into a CD (one of the reason I like to do the Upgrade via Ethernet connection) Never had a problem. Some people may disagree with me but I still like the internet connection over the burned CD.

I am going to ask Josh Z if can make an article about this issue.
