Most likely they are trying energy saving tactics. Also, if the unit isnt plugged in then it cant be harmed by brownouts, power surges, ect... I always leve all my equipment plugged in though.

O , k guesse ill leave it plugged in then, it also is inside my cabinet under my t.v. thats an okay place to have it right? For those who have your players in the inside where u have have doors to shut it up, the player never gets overheated or anything from being plugged in cause its still withdrawing power?

If your player isn't overheating when it's running, it certanily won't overheat if it's on standby mode. Just don't block the air vents in the back and you are OK.
