Default New Player Suggestions

After having had my 1,000,000 problem w/ my second Samsung BD-P1400, I've decided to return it to Best Buy tomorrow in exchange for another player. The choices are
Panasonic DMP-BD10AK or 10K
Sony BDP-S500 or 300
Sharp Aquos BD-HP20U
Any suggestions on which one is the best?

Get a refund and get the new Panasonic player... It's not profile 1.1 and would probably cost around the same.

I just returned from Best Buy, ended up w/ another 1400. They didn't have any Panasonics (10AK) because they said they were waiting for the new one. So I told them I'd take another 1400 and if it has problems again I'd return it for the Panasonic when it comes out. I'm not going to upgrade the firmware on this one. Right now I'm watching Silver Surfer for any glitches, after that I'll watch Spidey 2.1

Just finished Silver Surfer and no problems. Watching Spidey 2.1 now
I'll certainly consider the PS3 if problems occur again but I think I might wanna try the new Panasonic.

That's what I did. Don't do the firmware unless it's a critical update.

Just finished Spider-Man 2.1 and noticed some slight glitches. When Peter buys a hot dog during the "Raindrops keep falling on my head" scene. During the fight on the train w/ Ock, there's a point where Spidey swings in and the player froze for half a second and then kept on. As the fight scene continued it happened 2 more times but ever so slightly. The movie played from beginning to end and didn't lock up and stop at all.
Next I'll probably watch Spidey 3 or Day After Tomorrow for any other possible glitches. I want to give this 3rd 1400 a complete run thru before the 30 day period runs out.

Well that didn't take long. I'll be going back to Best Buy tonight. Was watching Day After Tomorrow w/ the global trivia game on and 35mins in the player just shut down. The disc stopped and wouldn't come back on or do anything else. I had to turn it off and on just to get the disc out.
Now have to decide between the Sony 500, Sharo Aquos or a PS3.

I returned mine today to Best Buy and got a 60GB PS3. Its playing smoothly so far. When I returned the 1400 the guy at the store said I was the second person to return one today. Finished Day After Tomorrow w/ the global warming game w/o a problem. The PS3 also loaded the movie and Spider-Man 2 faster than the 1400.

Samsung will come through...just hold on. It took a few weeks to get a firmware release for my Samsung BD-P1000 which fixed the latest issue with the new Fox titles and all is working great.
