Default Thinking of upgrading my Blu-Ray player to DP-UB820

Hey Guys,

Right now I have a Philips BDP7520/F7. I'm just wondering, is it worth the money to upgrade to a Panasonic DP-UB820? Or is the picture/sound quality good enough on the Philips?

Thanks!

The Panasonic is a 4K player right? Even on the most basic level, the Panasonic is much higher rated than the Philips. I personally have not used either so I cannot speak much beyond that.

Both are 4K Blu-Ray players with HDR/Dolby Vision. Online reviews seems to have them around the same level. I'll keep an eye out on the Panasonic for Boxing Day.

User reviews on average put the Philips at 3.2, the Panasonic at 4.5 (out of a possible 5 points.)
Philips might be an underrated brand. Back when DVD was the thing, they made players at all levels. I used one regularly, I still have it actually.
Some of the user reviews on this site have spoke highly about Panasonic's offerings with regards to 4K.

You're right, but in the reviews I read it was things like apps built in and design of unit that elevated the Panasonic score over the Philips. Picture quality wise it was rated roughly the same and I paid 200 for the Philips. I guess I could always try it and then return it if I notice no appreciable difference!
