Best Buy, Kmart and others will be selling players for as little as $40.

So all these people getting exposed to Bluray for the first time will be burned with a player that breaks down in 92 days. This time period of course is just past LG's 90-day Warranty.
You know what they say about first impressions right?

Bought one of these cheap LG players for $50 last year around this time for the bedroom. The thing played flawlessly up until two weeks ago. Started making a bunch of loud noises and won't read discs. Took it apart and looked at it.....no physical broken parts. Almost lasted a year!

How is an Emerson 32" 720p LCD a bargain at $148? That seems like it should be an everyday price these days...lol.

Yikes, I was hoping these cheap players would be a little better than you guys have suggested. I was amazed at the price--it's crazy to think of the introductory prices of Blu-Ray players in comparison... Has anyone else had them break down so soon? I planned to give a couple as gifts, but I want them to work!
