Default Ext Blu-Ray player for my PC- Suggestions?

I'd like to get an external Blu-ray player, (and burner), for my desktop, (and to use with my laptop).
My only experience with blu-ray is my stand alone player I use with my tv.

I'd appreciate any suggestions as to brand, price, specs etc.

My desktop is a Dell XPS 8000, i7 860, Windows 7 Home Premium, NVidia GeForce GTS 240, 8G Mem, USB 2, USB 3, Esata.

Thanks for any help on this.

Oh, I forgot to mention I don't need 3D capability.

Any reason for external?

2 options for external:

1) Get a regular 5.25" drive and then get a drive enclosure (USB or eSATA)
2) Get an external Blu-ray drive, there's tons.

Examples:

I like the actual external ones because they use USB power!

Hi Favelle,
Thanks for the reply. The main reason for external is that I can swap it between my desktop and laptop.

Thanks for the links. Are there any brands you'd recommend, or suggest I steer clear of?

Thanks again,

pg

Thanks again Favelle,
Another quick question. If I decide to ditch my current dvd burner and get an internal blu-ray writer, does blu-ray also write to conventional dvds and cds?

Thanks,
pg

Yep, they ALL write DVD's and CD's as well. They make excellent burners.

Adding to the answer you already got . .
If you have a slot available to keep your DVD/RW burner in addition to your new blu-ray burner, you might do that, and keep some usage off your blu-ray burner. That's what I do (my blu-ray equipment sees only blu-ray media).
