Default LG BH200 problem

I was thinking about buying a LG Bh200 player "as is" at a really good price. They say it has very little physical wear and it powers on fine, but the problem is that the eject button is unresponsive. They told me it reads: "Reading" ... then "No Disc." It makes no loud grinding sound when trying to eject either. They never opened it up or fooled around with it to further observe. That's all the info they have on it. Any idea what it could be? Should I take a chance on it or forget it? Thanks

Forget it. I've followed BH200 threads for a long time and I've never seen that particular problem fixed.

BH200 was a great player, but it's slow, it's buggy, and it's not supported any more. I think a far better solution is to get a nice Toshiba HD-DVD player and a current Blu-ray player with good support.

I'd forget it, sounds like an expensive repair, or missing parts. It might depend on how easy it is to find a drive for it.

I do like the BH200 and have always been impressed with them, it is one of the region hackable player the blu federation haven't tried to block yet.

As I recall those buttons on the player are touch sensing (as opposed to a mechanical button you push in)? If so probably impossible to repair with the lack of parts. But the obvious question here is: does it come with remote control? If so, does the tray open when the Open button is pressed on the remote?

My $.02 . . I considered 2 different combo players for quite some time back in the day - and decided against both of them - and the entire concept of a combo player. Looking back on that decision . . I am glad I made that choice. I owe Vinny a debt of gratitude for sharing so openly about his experiences which influenced me greatly.
My Toshiba HD-A35 and Sony BDP-S1000es cost about $100 & $90 respectively, they live and play nicely together in my equipment rack, and both work perfectly.
I'd stay away from combo players unless someone is giving it away, and even then . . think twice.

Thank you everyone for the responses. It only comes with the power cord, no remote (that would be something if that was the only problem lol). It's $35 shipped on ebay at the moment, but it has a week left. You guys made my decision a lot easier, I'm going to pass on this one. I figured if it was an easy repair i would get it, but if i have to buy parts for that certain player, I might have a better chance of winning the lottery.

I have been using a BH200 for years and like it well enough but I don't recall ever reading about that specific problem and unless the price is really, really, really good, I wouldn't bother with buying it and trying to fix it. The odds it can be fixed are slim.

I know, it's a weird problem isn't it? It's $35 shipped at the moment, that's still a nice chunk of change for a possible boat anchor, now if only I had a boat that might be different...
