Default Latest PS3 to Be Lighter and Greener

Not too many changes afoot, but Sony has confirmed the (minor) rumored changes to the PS3 slim that started buzzing around the web yesterday.

Details here on HDD.

They really need to add an IR port so normal remotes can be used for BD playback. An IR port would cost them, what, 15 cents?

Not going to happen when they can sell their own $25 remote. The ps3 has had many things taken out on the hardware side, no way they will start adding new hardware features. Your only luck is a Logitech remote plus Bluetooth adapter.

Much like the PS2, glad I have an older model! Once they start lifting the hood and dumping things out, forget it!

I know it won't happen. I hate Sony.

I also hate Microsoft for wanting to charge me to use someone else's service (Netflix).

I wish they would at least update their remote and add a back light or something...

I don't care if it's greener. Chances are this update will make it less reliable. I believe the later models of the PS2 Slim were said to be such from some people.
p.s. Most of the time when a company says they're being greener, chances are it's code for "We're trying to save money by cutting out something.". Case in point, the eco cases. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to see those cheapskates punched in the face.
