Default Toshiba 2011 Blu-ray player information (BDX2200,BDX4200, and BDX5200)

1. Toshiba BDX2200 (BD-LIVE profile 2.0): Toshiba just came out with a new Blu-ray player called the Toshiba BDX2200 for a manufactories suggested retail price of $99.99. Mail order price according to one of my sources will be around $87. This BDX2200 Blu-ray player is profile 2.0. Has both a USB port and a SD slot that also accepts SDHC cards. The player is WI-FI ready and supports several streaming services.

Yes some retail stores carry Toshiba Blu-ray players. I prefer OPPO, Panasonic, and Sony Blu-ray players but Toshiba Blu-ray players are priced under $80. You can get an older refurbished Toshiba BDX2500 with BD-LIVE and its WI-FI ready for only $79.54 at Walmart. Normally sells for $179.99 new. Walmart does not stock this refurbished player but it can be ordered online at the Walmart website and delivered for free to your local store. This is a factory refurbished player

Here are the specs, it has video streaming features, you will need to purchase a SD card or SDHC card in order to use BD-LIVE since the player lacks 1GB of internal storage for BD-LIVE.

The Toshiba BDX5200 estimated retail price is $199.99 (not sure about exact list price but that is from one of my sources). Mail order price will be under $150. I am hearing from one of my sources that estimated arrival date of around middle of April 2011 on the Toshiba BDX4200 and Toshiba BDX5200 model. Estimated arrival dates can always be delayed.

I saw that the BDX4200 ($129.99) and BDX5200 ($179.99)have been released now. What are the differences between the two other than $50? They seem to have the exact same specs...

The difference between the Toshiba BDX4200 for $129.99 list price and the Toshiba BDX5200 $179.99 list price is that the Toshiba BDX5200 has built in Wi-Fi. The BDX4200 is Wi-Fi ready with an optional adapter purchased separately.

The 2011 Toshiba BDX2200, BDX4200, and BDX5200 has no component video outputs just like the 2011 Panasonic Blu-ray players with no component video outputs. So if one does not have HDMI or DVI on their older HDTV they will need to purchase a new TV or go with a different brand of Blu-ray player with component video outputs. Also 7.1 analog audio outputs and optical audio ouput is not a option on the new players. Only coaxial digital, HDMI audio , and 2 channel analog outputs.

Okay I'm totally new at this but just maybe this will help someone who owns a Toshiba Blu Ray DVD Model #BDX2200. I recently bought this model from a Thrift store at a really great price but it did not come with a tv remote. Therefore I had to go out and buy a Universal Remote which I bought at Target and the brand name is GE Remote Control 8 Device. The code for the blu ray is 2295 just remember to get to know your remote and also remember on this particular remote the play button is the OK button which is different then what the Book states. But I could have read it wrong. Anyway I'm excited because I can finally get to watch my blu ray movies.
