Default Samsung BD-P1000 recalled????

I just got back from my local electronics dealer and he informed me that they had to pull all remaining Samsung blu ray players and return to the vendor and all he could state was "they have been recalled"

Anyone hear of this????

From what I gathered it had nothing to do with that problem at all, but something to do with firmware version. Not too sure, he didn't get into much detail. All I know is I was in there last week and they had 9 in stock and now poof all gone INCLUDING the display model.

there might just be a new unit coming and maybe they did sell them but there shouldnt be a recall. there was an update that fixed alot of the issues with the unit

It might simply be they wanted to be sure they had the region-coding firmware fix in place in order to appease studios.

Well, I returned not 1 but 3 brand new Samsung players do to glitches. I got my first player around the time Sammy had put up their latest firmware update on their site. Both pre & post firmware didn't fix 'em glitches like audio drop-out, PQ stutter, PQ freeze etc etc

I got 25 BDs & no player yet. Hopefully the end of this year I'll get a call that my Sony player is in.
